Choosing who you want to build your swimming pool should be easy
but it isn’t, there are so many fly by night companies leaving either poor work or not coming back to finish
the job. It is becoming more and more common.
We see and hear this too often, there are several great swimming
pool builders in the Houston area, if you narrow it down to the ones that have an office and do not
work out of their home, your chances of getting a quality swimming pool builder
improves. Quality builders with a love of the trade will have their own building and
display pool showcasing their work. Try to select a swimming pool builder that is big enough
to support the work being done and not so big you just become a number after the signature.
Watch out for the new compaines moving in from other areas,
since the economy has slowed in other parts of the country we have had several come set up camp in Texas.
Lets just hope if they build your pool they dont pick up and leave if something goes wrong. A few large
companies went out of business leaving peoples swimming pools not finished but paid for, since Texas is not
regulated it would be real easy to set up here and do the same thing.
It’s nice if the owner of the company visits the jobsite him/her
self.
If you go for the low
ball price, you will often end up in a bad situation. Call references and go see the work in person;
pictures do not show bad work or bad customer relations.
Using the BBB or the
new Check a Pro type of service is ok but doing a check on the internet tends to have more
information.Remember, the companies. We are not suggesting
that you rule out businesses that are members but don’t rule out companies not.
Testimonials on a website are what the owner of the website put
on their, take them with a grain of salt. An honest builder will provide you with the contact
information so you can make your own educated decision.
