When is the best time to have your backyard construction done?

Every year it seems the first hot weekend around May our phones go crazy with everyone wanting a pool yesterday. Once you have decided to make that call you can figure on about two weeks by the time you have met with someone and found a design and price you like. If you are in a subdivision you can count on about 30 days for HOA/POA approval. Now you have six weeks into the process. Once construction begins, in most cases, you're looking at three weeks before water goes in the pool.

If everything goes smoothly  and there are no financing issues,  you will be swimming in about ten weeks which puts you in the middle of July.

Things to consider when building in the winter months: You may encounter a few rain out days, the holidays may slow it down a little however in most cases you get a little more for your money because things have slowed down and there is no big rush to get to the next job. The experience of having your back yard swimming pool seems more relaxed and more planning for landscape, fire places, lighting and things of this nature seems to get involved. You want to create an environment for year around.

Building in the Fall: This seems to be one of the best times to build for most people, the weather is normally perfect, you're not in a hurry to swim and it's almost like spring break for the workers after working all summer.
